Northside Mixed Martial Arts is one of Chicago’s best Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs. Located in Lincoln Park, just footsteps from DePaul University, the Northside MMA training program is designed to introduce students to martial arts in a controlled and safe environment.
Classes will focus on learning new techniques and improving physical conditioning. We teach the fundamentals to build the foundation necessary to progress in the sport. The majority of our students are beginners with little or no martial arts experience.
We offer four types of classes:
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is widely regarded as the single most effective martial art. Students will learn both self defense and sport jiu-jitsu techniques. In addition, classes will focus on improving physical conditioning and improving flexibility.
Submission wrestling is a martial art that integrates the takedowns of wrestling with the submissions and ground control of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Muay Thai Kickboxing classes are designed to introduce students to striking for mixed martial arts. Students will build a strong foundation by learning the basic strikes and combinations using all eight limbs: hands, legs, elbows, and knee. Once students have developed a strong base, advanced striking techniques will be taught.
Mixed martial arts classes will teach students to seamlessly integrate the striking and grappling techniques. Equally important to mixed martial arts is conditioning. Each class will have a conditioning portion that will build strength, speed, endurance, and overall physical conditioning.
